Prerequisite:  Limited to sworn law enforcement officers with a minimum of two years of patrol experience who are trained and proficient in the use of the NHTSA Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs).

Description:  This will be a combined DRE Pre-School followed immediately by the 7-Day DRE School for those who successfully complete the Pre-School.  Those wishing to attend must already be trained and be proficient with the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.  A DRE School Application must be completed and submitted to Senior Trooper Shawn Matthews, Maryland State Police Chemical Test for Alcohol Unit via email at shawn.matthews@maryland.gov by August 15, 2025. A DRE School application for this class may be obtained below.  Applicants accepted into the class will be notified by email after the application deadline.  Students must attend all training sessions without exception.  All manuals and equipment will be provided to Maryland law enforcement officers accepted into the school.
